A series of releases of untold beauty has seen Paolo Veneziani as a protagonist of deep sound experimentation and this truth is not to be argued at the present state of things. This beautiful doublerelease flows like a river, and the undiscussable execution of the tracks (some of which are re-mastered) brings a level of professionality hardly reachable by todays average in electronic music. Fifteen compositions which sound like joie-de-vivre in its true (though vague) romantic sound, and that conceal interpretative and audible hints of every kind; from melancholic suggestions to minimalism, musical caresses which, at parts, touch upon noises, in an amazing continuum of ten years of music, ten years which draw an always more defined framework around this amazing artist.

Without replicating modules and strategies, our audacious experimentators reveal themselves as endowed with an outstanding creativity. The tasty carnet of contributors spaces in a variety of styles and tendencies that go from Paolo Veneziani’s (Tibprod, Cobalt) neo-cosmic sounds to Puyopuyo’s (19-t, Gagarin) fierce weirdo-synthpop, without losing sight of the common path that leads the whole work: autumn. Enwrapped by the delicate parfumes of Imtech’s (Observatoryonline) autumnal whispers, Urkuma, Phobode and Strinqulu’s (MikMusik, Merck, Saag) sonorous poetry and Kaneel’s (Camomille, Kikapu) nostalgic dronebeats, we are kicked up by Makunouchi Bento’s (Retinascan, Inpuj) subtle elaborate of obscure flows and the hypnotic hug of Luca Confusione; and still, Iermoç and Transient’s (Koept, Hippocamp, Monotonik, Skylab Operations) quasi-obsessive IDM-intricacy, Vizion’s (Monotonik, Camomille, Wikkid) determined melodic moments and Proswell’s (Merck, Civik, 19-t) top electronics. A live recording of Corkzal’s (Commie) perfectly closes the circle.

Up until now Paolo Veneziani is certainly the biggest deal here at Ogredung (face to face with Makunouchi Bento): he scored 1300 downloads with just a release (Perpetual green), and the counter increases day by day. Following an EP and another mp3-single (on the Snowsky & no Ink compil), this coop with italian soundmate Antimateria is certainly another big shot in the hole. Ice Geometry features Paolo’s virtuosisms on the analog synthesizer and Antimateria’s tracking and mastering skills into a very trip into the new (for me) world of neo-cosmic icepop. Sharp, slidy and extremely catchy, this two-tracks EP shows us that fresh musix is always coming to us -and to you. And fresher than ice there is only Paolo Veneziani.
