Nuestro lanzamiento número veinte es similar al primero: plantea una panorámica del estado de las cosas en la electrónica minimalista y glitchy. Histéresis es una trayectoria trazada desde planteamientos intimistas y atmosféricos hasta llegar a beats urbanos, sin dejar de flirtear por momentos con un dancefloor alternativo, con la participación de doce artistas de México, Chile, Japón y Estados Unidos.

We have come to our 20th release in a similar way as in our beginning like a label: establishing a panoramic view of things in minimalistic and glitchy electronics produced in an independent context. Histeresis is a drawn trajectory framing intimist and atmospheric set ups to urban beats, flirting in some moments with an alternative dance floor. Twelve artists from México, Chile, Japan and USA are represented here.

Llegamos a nuestro lanzamiento número veinte de una manera parecida a nuestro inicio como sello: planteando una panorámica del estado de las cosas en la electrónica minimalista y glitchy producida de manera independiente. El tiempo ha pasado, y en esta música, algunos recursos sonoros que fueron fines, ahora son medios. Histéresis es una trayectoria trazada desde planteamientos intimistas y atmosféricos hasta llegar a beats urbanos, sin dejar de flirtear por momentos con un dancefloor alternativo.

El disco arranca con los susurros postdigitales de “Ella hablaba en RGB”, de El Lazo Invisible: …”ella solo hablaba RGB, a tres canales, frente a un monitor continuamente disponible. -Tus opciones son 3-, me decía, la mañana es un lindo vector de color”… En un continuo que parece darse de manera natural, Meiker colorea de atardecer el camino con “Naranja (That Nostalgic Feeling)” para llegar a la textura sónica de los últimos pensamientos del día con “Sinking downwards in dire ruin (f.ss)” de Bifidus, quien continúa asignándole un sonido al estado intermedio entre el sueño y la vigía. Insecto, desde Chile, nos pone en “Miternu” dentro una arena compleja llena de colapsos rítmicos, texturas y melodías microscópicas.

Rivel, con “Back Again” nos ha dado uno de sus mejores tracks: un jardín dubby submarino de senderos que se bifurcan al unísono dentro de su propia lógica. “Dodecafucked” de Subnor es ese idm cinematográfico que construye un cortometraje imaginario con el timing perfecto. Emmerichk en “Maquiventa”, forma también una verdadera narrativa de aires contemplativos y complejidades en tránsito constante hacia nuevas formas. “Photon”, de Absolut Time es una pieza que busca alejarse del minimal tal como lo conocemos hoy en día y nos hace suspirar un poco por los noventa. Antiguo Autómata Mexicano en “Bad Japanese Movie” nos coloca en medio de un cluster de texturas que sirve de camuflaje a ritmos que fluyen por debajo de un denso entramado residual. Zofa, en “Cycles” hace gala de su habilidad para dejarnos en medio de un campo de tensiones irresolutas que inquietan al oído.

El fin de Histéresis se aproxima con nuestros amigos chilenos de Manziping, “Despuésde usted señor” esconde, detrás de su título amable, una tormenta de beats, asaltos de bajo y problemas con la recepción de una señal de radio, todo esto tendido sobre una atmósfera que al igual que ciertas variaciones climáticas, parece avisarnos sutilmente sobre lo que se aproxima desde el inicio. Kampión, el hombre que le ha dado la vuelta de tuerca más reciente al hip hop en México, cierra con Dreamy Snapshot, una impresionante colaboración entre MC Domer y el campeón del hip hop digitalmente corrompido.

Filtro está de vuelta.

Our Release begins with the post digital whisperings from “Ella hablaba en RGB”, of El Lazo Invisible:..”she only speaks RGB, in 3 channels, infront of a screen continuosly available.-You have 3 options –she used to tell me, morning is a nice colourfull vector”.. Like a natural flow, Meiker paints this release with the colors of a warm evening with his track “Naranja (That Nostalgic Feeling)”. We arribe to last thoughts of the day sonic textures with “Sinking downwards in dire ruin (f.ss)” a Bifidus’ track that like his previous work, gives a sound to that state between being awake and being asleep. Insecto from Chile, situate us inside an arena where rhythmic collapses, textures and microscopic melodies clash between themselves.

Rivel, with “Back again” gave us one of his best tracks to date: an undersea dubby garden with paths that bifurcates at unison into his own very logic. “Dodecafuced” by Subnor is a very cinematographic IDM that constructs an imaginary short-film with perfect timing. Emmerichk with “Maquiventa” also forms a narrative with true contemplative thoughts in constant transitions to new forms. AAM with “Bad japanese movie” place us in the middle of a cluster of textures that works as a camouflage to rhythms floating under a dense residual scheme. zofa in cycles makes display of his ability to leave us in the middle of a field of unsolved tensions that unease the listener. “Photon” by Absolute time is a piece that searches getting away from the minimal as we know it and make us sigh a little bit for the nineties.

Histéresis nearly finishes with Manziping, our friends from Chile. “Después de usted señor” hides within its gentle title a store formed with beats, bass assaults and some problems with catching a radio signal, all of this over an atmosphere which, like some climatic variations, warns us from things to come. Kampión, the man that has changad the FACE of mexican hip hop forever, closes with “Dreamy Snapshot” an impressive collaboration between MC Domer and digitally corrupted hip hop champion.

El consumo de tecnología ha zonificado al mundo una vez más y Filtro aprovecha este fenómeno como pretexto para presentar Región 4; recopilación en la que se crea un diálogo entre la música dancehall jamaicana, el regaetton y el dubstep; sus aplicaciones en la música bailable vía el grime inglés y los sonidos y tendencias propios de los artistas del sello, agrupadas principalmente dentro de los terrenos del dancefloor minimal y el idm.

Región Cuatro presenta a los más recientes afiliados de Filtro: Rivel (California) y The Copy Violators (Jalisco, Mex) así como a otros miembros del sello: Destreza, Kampión, Karras, Lao, Mhv y Plug. De los oscuros y pesados bajos, las deconstucciones de soca y las reinterpretaciones minimal del dancehall, al reggaeton fragmentado y los sobresaltos del cut and paste digital vueltos dancehall, Región 4 es el soundtrack creado para una época cuya cultura popular ha sido marcada por el constante ir y venir de la música caribeña y sus diferentes lecturas.

Consumption of new technology has again divided the world into zones; Filtro takes advantage of this phenomenon and uses it as a pretext to release Region 4; a new compilation which generates a dialogue between Jamaican dancehall music, reggaeton, dubstep, its applications dance music trends suchs as UK’s Grime as well as the own minimal and idm sounds from our label’s musicians.

Región Cuatro incluyes Filtro’s most recent affiliates: Rivel (California) and The Copy Violators (Jalisco, Mex) as well as members and friends of the label, such as: Destreza, Kampión, Karras, Lao, Mhv and Plug. From dark, heavy basses, soca’s deconstructions and minimal reinterpretations of dancehall music to fragmented regaetton and digital “cut and paste” turned dancehall, Región 4 is the soundtrack for an age where the popular culture has taken a lot from the constant flow of Caribbean music and it different approaches.

Las borrosas fronteras geográficas que produce la digitalidad global, se materializan de forma sonora en la nueva exploración de Filtro: Región 4. El intercambio cultural que se produce a través de los medios digitales ha generado una maleabilidad cultural. Como una migración que traza una ruta rizomática, carente de un centro, un punto de partida específico, la trayectoria del dub y sus derivados, filtrada a través de fenómenos como el grime y el dubstep inglés, y reencontrándose con elementos locales específicos, está presente hoy más que nunca en un gran espectro de la cultura popular: desde el boom del reggaeton en la radio de todo el mundo, hasta la imagen de los canales de videos. El reconocimiento de estos múltiples ritmos y sonidos como parte de sus raíces gira en la órbita de varios de los productores independientes de música electrónica mexicana.

En Región 4 se crea un diálogo entre la música dancehall jamaicana, el reggaeton y los sonidos y tendencias propios de los artistas del sello, las cuales se agrupadan principalmente dentro de los terrenos del dancefloor minimal y el idm. Así, sonoridades provenientes de la Región 4 [la cual incluye Australia, Nueva Zelanda, islas del Pacífico, América Central, México, Sudamérica y el Caribe] confluyen en un mismo punto para ser transformadas en un híbrido que además de dar lo suficiente para reflexionar en torno al circuito tecnología/cultura pone de manifiesto tanto las influencias como la evolución y la identidad musical renovada del sello. Resulta paradójico que códigos regionales creados arbitrariamente para controlar el acceso a contenidos digitales dependiendo la zona geográfica, funcionen inversamente a nivel conceptual para producir una reinterpretación de los sonidos de la región .

La más reciente incorporación al catálogo de Filtro, Rivel, productor oriundo de California, expone su visión Ruff Bizzness del dancehall, a través de oscuros bajos que se fusionan vocales de raíces isleñas. Karras in dub contribuye con sus distintivas resonancias dubby y ecos de textura metálica que rinden tributo a las raíces más clásicas del dub con su track “Río bamba”, mientras que Lao, decide abordar al género desde la perspectiva del minimal techno, creando con su particular track “Zooka”,una fusion contundente del dub análogo con el digital.

Con “Bitskit”, Plug reduce el dancehall a mínimas frecuencias frías y digitales, que de alguna forma logran conservar la cálidez propia del dub. En la línea de sonidos pensados para la pista de baile, Destreza, ejecuta su visión de la soca, alterando el espíritu soul de este género y utilizando texturas vidriosas para amplificar el ritmo del calipso, creando con “Like tigers in the back of your seat car”, un equilibrio sonoro entre ritmos orgánicos y matices digitales.

Amplificando la temperatura sonora del reggaeton y dispuesto a llevarla al límite técnico de la música laptop, MHV altera las frecuencias de este género masivamente aclamado y fusiona con drills en “38 grados”. Los sobresaltos del cut and paste digital toman forma de dancehall en el track de los Copy Violators, dupla tapatía próxima a presentar un ep en Filtro. Kampion, aborda las posibilidades electrónicas de la música caribeña con el track “Popotla Sound Machine”, una desconstrucción total del reggaeton para ofrecer un sonido bailable de multiples fragmentaciones, el track cuenta con el apoyo visual del primer netvideo de Filtro, el cual fue creado por Arturo Gil de Xnografikz, utilizando la misma técnica de microsampling de audio, para la producción visual. Con el lanzamiento online de este video, entramos en una nueva etapa en la que asumimos con mayor compromiso los aspectos gráficos, visuales y de diseño y en la que buscamos romper con nuestros propios esquemas, dejando en evidencia nuestros orígenes multidisciplinarios.

The blurry geographic frontiers produced by digital globality materialize in the shape of Filtro’s new search: Región 4. The cultural exchange produced through the digital medium has generated a cultural malleability. Much like a migration that traces a center less, rhizomatic path without a defined starting point, the trajectory of Dub and all of its derivations, filtered through phenomena like grime or British dubstep, and finding itself again with specific local elements, is present today more than ever in a great spectrum of pop culture: from the reggaeton boom in worldwide radio, to the image of music channels. The recognition of these various rhythms and sounds as part of its roots rotates in the orbit of anything but few Mexican independent electronic music producers.

Región 4 creates a dialogue between Jamaican dancehall, reggaeton, and the sounds and tendencies of the label’s own artists, who usually group themselves in the realm of minimal dancefloor and IDM. This way, sonorities pertaining to the region 4 (which includes Australia, New Zealand, the pacific islands, central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean islands) flow through the same point to be transformed into a hybrid that not only gives enough to reflect on the technology/culture circuit, but also puts into a manifesto the influences, evolution, and the label’s renovated musical identity. It results paradoxical that arbitrarily generated regional codes created to control the access to digital content depending on the geographical zone work in an opposite fashion at a conceptual level to produce a new interpretation of the sounds of region 4.

The newest addition to Filtro’s catalogue, Rivel, a California native producer, exposes his vision Ruff Bizzness from dancehall through obscure lows fused with island rooted vocals. Through his track “Rio Bamba”, Karras in dub contributes his distinctive dubby resonance and metallic textured echoes to offer tribute to dub’s most classic roots, while Lao decides to engage the genre from the perspective of minimal techno, creating a peculiar track called “Zooka”, a clear fusion of analogous and digital dub. With “Bitskit”, Plug reduces dancehall to mere cold and digital frequencies that manage in someway to keep dub’s singular warmth. In the line of sounds designed for the dance floor, Destreza executes his vision of soca, changing the soul spirit of this genre and using glassy textures to amplify the rhythm of calypso, creating a sonorous equilibrium between organic rhythms and digital variations with “Like tigers in the back of your car seat”.

Amplifying the sonorous temperature of reggaeton and set to take it to the technical limit of laptop music, MHV alters the frequencies of this massively acclaimed genre and fuses drills in “38 grados”. The overlaps of digital cut and paste take the shape of dancehall in the track of the copy Violators, a duet from Guadalajara next to present an ep with Filtro. Kampion engages the electronic possibilities of Caribbean music with the track “Popotla Sound Machine”, a complete deconstruction of reggaeton that offers a danceable sound of various fragmentations. The track counts with the visual support of Filtro’s first netvideo created by Arturo Gil from Xnografikz using the same technique of audio microsampling for visual production. With the online release of this video, we enter a new stage where we assume a great dedication to the aspects of graphics, visuals, and design and a search for the deconstruction of our own schemes, leaving in evidence our own multi-disciplinarian origins.

Desde California, EUA, Rivel presenta su primer EP en filtro: What’s de dub of it all, con cinco tracks que parecen salir de un CPU trabajando bajo la influencia del THC. Beats idm envueltos en acordes de reggae y gruesos bajos, así como atmósferas más sutiles; en el ep están presentes todo el tiempo las influencias de la música de Jamaica. Si bien esto no resulta extraño en la música electrónica inteligente de hoy en día, el ánimo experimental de Rivel logra convertir a sus raíces en estructuras caprichosas y poco comunes que lo alejan del grueso del dub electrónico.

Como si este rompecabezas rítmico se hubiese terminado de ensamblar en las calles, la música de Rivel mantiene un espíritu urbano-fronterizo que termina de darle un toque muy personal que presta atención al soundtrack de algún barrio perdido en la frontera.

El EP incluye 3 reinterpretaciones sonoras de la música de Rivel a cargo de Bifidus, Plug y Subnor; mientras que el primero nos ofrece un remix de sonoridades discretas y profundas que trasladan Can’t keep on a terrenos de ensoñaciones diáfanas Plug, con la misma pieza, sigue los trazos del dancehall para crear un paisaje subacuático de delays y texturas degradadas. Finalmente Subnor confronta sus nociones del IDM con las bases rítmicas de Rivel convirtiéndolas en una especie de jungla de naturaleza más artificial y frenética.

As if this rhythmical puzzle had finished its assembly on the streets, the music of Rivel maintains an urban spirit that gives it a very personal flavor, one that pays attention to the street soundtrack of some lost district along the border.

The EP includes 3 remixes of Rivel’s music produced by Bifidus, Plug and Subnor; whereas Bifidus gives us a translation of Can’t keep that turns the piece into a discreet and deep mood that takes dub into realms of diaphanous daydreams, Plug, with the same piece, follows the outlines of dancehall to create a sub-acuatic landscape of delays and degraded textures. Finally Subnor confronts his slight knowledge of the IDM with the rythmical foundations of Rivel, turning them into some kind of artificial, frenetic jungle.

Un océano de texturas vidriosas, distorsiones y beats que en conjunto esculpen una vibra espiral rítmica y atmósferica de gran precisión y belleza. Este EP incluye 4 remixes de Karras in dub, Plug, Subnor y Emmerichk.

Straight from Osaka, Absoult Time presents fragmented and danceable music, feeded with the basic elements from digital dub. This music rises unto a few times seen level of richnes and sofistication inside the dubtech scene. An ocean of vitreous textures, distortions and beats that altogether carve a spiral vibe, rythmical and atmóspheric, with high accuracy and beauty. This EP includes4 remixes from Karras in dub, Plug, Subnor and Emmerichk.

Absolute Time, es el primer artista de orígen asiático que se integra al catálogo de Filtro para exponer una propuesta fragmentada y bailable, originaria de los territorios del dub digital de Osaka.

Ocean Bed EP es un trabajo sumergido en texturas vidriosas y precisas, distorsiones y beats, ecos y espirales que en conjunto esculpen una vibra rítmica y atmósferica. Un manifiesto sónico que identifica los territorios comúnes de las contradicciones del sonido minimalista: cálido y glaciar, técnico y orgánico, bailable y narrativo .

El arte, el ego y el dub son los elementos que según Akihiro Kogishi – utilizó en la creación de su EP debut. “Ocean Bed” es el track que nos sitúa en un contexto helado y fantástico, el cual es interferido por frecuencias erróneas , loops y ecos que dan paso al beat estilizado de “Circle and Spiral”; donde las variaciones sonoras logran crear un ambiente de mayor nitidez y hacen más evidente el beat dubsesco. Finalmente, “Iceland” , es un lienzo sonoro formado por bajos infinitos y beats cristalizados que logran crear una imagen épica de un lugar desconocido para la retina, pero familiar para nuestra percepción: el groove.

Artistas de Filtro se involucran a esta realización por medio de 4 remixes que manifiestan el estilo sonoro que nuestro sello pretende consolidar. Utilizando como hilo conductor las cualidades más bailables de este EP, Plug decide utilizar técnicas clásicas del dub desde una perspectiva digital, recreando una versión de “Circle and Spiral”, sin hacer uso del material original. Emmerick nos ofrece una recontrucción total del sonido de Absolute Time que se aleja de la estructura original por completo, reiventándo “Ocean Bed” a través de un sofisticado abuso de clicks&cuts. Abordando la narrativa de “Circle and Spiral” , desde una perspectiva bailable más oscura, Subnor explora los ritmos del dub enfoncándose a sus frecuencias más mínimas. Finalmente, Karras rescata los elementos clásicos del roots y el dub, para amplificar la resonancia melódica y la sensualidad de “Iceland”, logrando maximizar la experiencia sensorial de este track.

Absolute Time is the first asian artist that joins the Filtro catalogue, to exhibit a fragmented and danceable proposal, forged in the lands of digital dub in Osaka.

Ocean Bed EP is a work that deep dives through glassy and precise textures, beats and distorsions, ehoes and spirals that sculpt a rythmic and atmospheric vibe. A sonic manifiesto that identifies the common places between the contradicctions of the minimal sound: warm and icy, technic as well as organic, narrative and danceable.

Art, ego and dub are the elements that according with Akihiro Kogishi, used in the production of his EP debut. “Ocean Bed” is the track that set us in a gelid and fantastic scenary, interfered by glitchs, loops and echoes that opens space to the stylized beat of “Circle and Spiral”, where the variations of sound, shapes a crystal clear atmosphere that makes the dubsesque beat more evident. Finally, “Iceland” is an audio canvas made of infinite bass and glassy beats, powerfull enough to sketch an epic image of an unknown place to our sight and yet familiar to our perception: the groove.

FIltro’s artists get involved in this production through four remixes that express the sound style that we are looking for as a label. Using the dance quailities of this album as excuse, Plug uses the classic dub techniques from a digital perspective, developing another side of “Circle and Spiral” without using the original source. Emmerick, rebuilds from scratch the sound of Absolute Time, taking a great distance from the original track that allowes him to stylize the track through the abuse of sophisticated clicks&cuts. Subnor, decided to approach “Circles and Spirals” from an oscure panorama of IDM, that allows him to explore the dub groove, focusing in it’s minimal frecuencies. Finally Karras, rescued the classic elements of the roots and the dub, in order to amplify the melodious reverb and sensuality of “Iceland”, -achieving in this way- a greater sensorial experience of the track.

Debut from Lao, a young Mexican artist, in which his more personal obsessions merge: digital dub and an abstract mixture halfway between the irony and the respect of the mexican popular devotion and sacred images. Loops and clicks that harmonize with a tapestry of long oscillations. Liquid pearls of idm and customized, blurred reggaeton complete the sonic imaginary of one of the freshest proposals emerging from Mexico City. Amen includes a remix from Bifidus.

En el tercer lanzamiento de filtro este 2006, el EP Amén, de Lao, ocupa el #16 del catálogo virtual del sello. En la vertiente del dub desde una perspectiva techno, este producto integrado por tres piezas y un remix, a cargo de Bifidus, está cargado de atmósferas de profundidad religiosa.

Lauro Robles (aka Lao) es uno de los integrantes más jóvenes, no sólo del sello, sino de la escena electrónica en general, a los veinte años hace su debut formal con Amén, una exploración sonora a partir de ideas y símbolos místicos y religiosos en el marco de las estéticas de la música electronic contemporánea, para construir un vocabulario fresco y original, con loops y clicks que armonizan los contratiempos desplegados sobre un tapiz de largas oscilaciones.

Fraseos de ambient dub envuelven piezas como “Dub heaven”, que da cuerpo y remonta en suave crescendo de etérea reverberación que planea en pasajes rítmicos minimalistas, en una contextura idm. En esta línea transcurre con finura “Immaculate deception”, que entreteje las bases rítmicas y el recurso del “reverb” con precisión y elegancia, consolidando una de las piezas más emotivas del EP, un dub en melancolía devocional. De este track se incluye un remix de Bifidus en una estructura y estilo que fusiona el dub en un perfil idm. Uno de los mejores cortes del disco es “Glory sat”, que propone fusions de ritmos y estructuras del dub con el techno, con una interesante matriz de síncopas que dan un trasfondo originario de calidez dancehall en formas que evolucionan de manera natural al reggaeton.

This is the third release of the year 2006, the EP Amen, by lao, steps for the 16th work in the label virtual catalogue. From a techno perspective, deep in dub lands, you can find three tracks: “Dub heaven”, “Glory sat” and “Immaculate deception”, this one including a remix made by Bifidus.

Lauro Robles (aka Lao) is one of the youngest artists not only of the label, but the whole Mexican electronic scene, he is 20 years old and publish his first work with a sonic exploration with local colorful music codes like dancehall and the techniques and aesthetics of dub and techno and fine idm treatments.

This contemporary feeling with a religious and spiritual concept is an opportunity for lao to search and build a fresh vocabulary, with loops and clicks that embodies harmoniously syncopated beats, displayed over a long breathe soundscapes.

In Amen the artist floats across different emotional status uf dub, from ambient treatments like the beginning of “Dub heaven” a delightful journey with a soft evolvement in crescendo into an ethereal reverb in minimal rhythmic structures in an idm frame. The track “Immaculate deception” entwines the rhythmic bases with an elegant and precise use of dub techniques, consolidating one of the most emotional pieces, full of devotional melancholic tones. From this track the EP incluyes a remix by Bifidus with an idm approach, and a style that preserve its dub bases. With no doubt the best achieved cut is “Glory sat”, with a very nice fusion of rhythms from dub to techno, and an interesting matrix of syncopated beats that refers to its original context of the warm dancehall musical tradition, evolving naturally to a reggaeton formula.

Bitflow is the search of digital processes in 4×4 on which seven projects located in diverse parts of the country lay their foundations, rescuing their strong Jamaican music influences and transferring them to the Mexican present where a concrete evolution of Dub music as a sort is already established inside diverse genres such as IDM or Dancefloor-related music.

Gama cromática de recursos, técnicas artesanales y una visión de replantear el Dub Digital,es lo que se presenta en esta compilacion; productores como Fax con una sútil manera de entrelazar microsonidos y procesos tradicionales del Dub Análogo. Karras introduciendo extractos de voces y coros femeninos rescatando el soul así como la síncopa jamaiquina con bajos potentes, Sanchez Dub bajista mexicano que explora las tendencias del Dub Tech Minimalista así como su notable uso del delay en sus breaks. Chromatic range of resources, artisan techniques and a vision and wish to reframe Digital Dub, is what appears in this compilation; producers like Fax with a soft way to interlace microsounds and traditional processes from Analogous Dub, Karras introducing extracts of feminine voices rescuing soul as well as jamaican syncopation, Sanchez Dub, a mexican bass player who explores the tendencies of Minimal Dub Tech as well as a remarkable use of delay in his breaks and Plug, who gives us an advance from his forthcoming album “Cesped” showing a balance between his syncopathed rythms and house, also, he does not hide his influence from big drums of Dub Roots. Bifidus shows us other schemes of production from those we know before, he takes us to atmosphere formed by sequences, glitches, strong bass lines and processes of dub.Emmerichk a new talent presented by Filtro who has also released an EP in this second stage of the label works here inside the digital minimal tecnho and dub; Antiguo Automata Mexicano presents voice samples at a low rate, watery and titillating sounds, of thick textures that melt across this sonorous stroll full of contrast.

Una de las más afortunadas incorporaciones al catálogo virtual de filtro es el primer ep de Emmerichk, quien se presenta al público luego de varios años de inmersión exhaustiva in-site en la exploración del idm y el techno, matrices que recorre en esta primera experiencia de producción con filtro.

One of the luckiest incorporations to Filtro’s virtual catalogue is the first EP from Emmerichk, an EP that is released after several years of exhaustive in-site immersion in idm and techno, genres that this producer travels within his first production for our label.

Strongly inspired in the Urantia Book and its elaborated cosmogonía, the five original tracks and one remix integrate the experienced work of several years behind musical production with digital tools, and find a solid and forceful expression in this reference to the universes of creative energies in incessant transition.

Parte de un planteamiento conceptual de fuerte inspiración que tiene como referencia el Libro de Urantia y su elaborada cosmogonía. Los cinco *tracks* originales y el *remix* de bonus integran el trabajo de una experiencia de varios años detrás de la producción musical con herramientas digitales, y encuentran una expresión sólida y contundente en esta referencia a los universos de energías creativas en incesante transición. La capacidad de dar una interpretación sonora a las vidas, mundos, universos, dimensiones, entidades y potestades de un sistema dinámico que es plataforma ideal para las elucubraciones musicales.

En una espléndida construcción de atmósferas en un entramado idm de manipulación de microestructuras rítmicas, entreveradas y montadas con una fina elocuencia de *clicks and cuts*, que discurre en estructuras orgánicas que en momentos luminosos pintan paisajes sonoros con vocación para el * dance floor*.

Urantia da sentido esotérico de consecuencias cósmicas en las experiencias sensoriales emanadas de los blips y clicks que en sus mínimas estructuras entran en colisiones armónicas para fabricar ritmos que van del movimiento más primitivo a las delicias de una pista de baile que cobra vida. En los dos primeros temas del disco “Frandalanke” y “Kanon 2.0” el artista diseña tapices áureos que soportan sutiles arquitecturas rítmicas y matices nebulosos.

Estos años al margen de la escena no han impedido que Emmerichk manifieste una asombrosa sensibilidad en las funcionalidades del dancefloor, como queda claro en las piezas “Kronboldeke”, “Morontia” y “Lanondadek”, donde la construcciones minimalistas se integran en mínimas explosions emocionales que rondan incluso el microhouse.

El bonus en este ep, “Frandalanke (Bifidus dub remix)”, es un ejercicio deconstructivo de Bifidus que logra recrear las bases fundamentales de la pieza para darle una identidad en dub, con un destacado alcance en el bajo y una reingeniería de los sonidos originales.

One of the most fortunate incorporations to filtro’s virtual catalog is Emmerichk’s first ep. He’s presented to the audience after some years of exhaustive in-site immersion in idm and techno exploration, wich he aplies on this first production experience with filtro. Starting from a conceptual point of strong inspiration taken from the Book of Urantia and its complex cosmogony.

The five original tracks and the bonus remix integrate the work of an experience acquiered from years behind the musical production with digital tools, and find a solid expresion in this reference to the universes of creative energies in non-stop transition. The capacity of giving a sound interpretation to lives, worlds, universes, dimensions and entities of a dinamic system, which is the ideal platform for musical elucubrations.

On a splendid construction of atmospheres in manipulated idm of rythmic micro-structures, mixed and made with a fine elocution of clicks and cuts, wich transit organic structures that in luminous moments paint sound landscapes with dancefloor mode.

Urantia gives esoterical sense of cosmic consecuences in the sensory experiences emanated from the blips and clicks that in minimal structures harmonically collide to create rythms that go from the most primitive movement to the pleasure of a dancefloor that comes to life.

On the first two tracks of “Frandalanke” and “Kanon 2.0” the artist designs a wallpaper aura that takes smooth rythmic architectures and foggy scales.

These years being apart from the scene have not impeded Emmerichk from manifesting an amazing sensitiveness within the dancefloor functions, as made clear in the pieces “Kronboldeke”, “Morontia” and “Lanondadek”, where minimal constructions integrate with soft emotional explosions even close to microhouse.

The bonus on this ep, “Frandalanke (Bifidus dub remix)”, is Bifidus’ deconstructive exercise that manages to recreate the fundamental bases of this piece to give it a dub identity, with an overpowering bass and re-engineering of the original sounds.

Un EP que da cuenta de una evolución a nivel artístico de Subnor que aún para aquellos familiarizados con el potencial creativo de Nasty, no deja de sorprender. Frecuencias oníricas de un mar sonoro en un marco rítmico a la idm en una articulación muy personal en la que Subnor ha comenzado a desarrollar canciones.

An EP that shows an artistic evolution and renewal of Subnor that surprises even to those familiarized with the creative potential of Nasty . Subnor es el proyecto de Juan Manuel Arias aka Nasty, músico y diseñador originario de la Ciudad de México. La trayectoria de Nasty en la escena local de música electrónica se puede rastrear hasta sus actividades como DJ de breaks al lado de los colectivos mexicanos Parador Análogo y Jungle Empire, mientras que en el campo del diseño formó parte de Xnografikz.Este es el segundo EP en Filtro de Subnor, quien anteriormente publicó el Split Japo/Masú al lado de Destreza y un remix en The Novel I Never Wrote. Subnor, a pesar de su naturaleza idm propensa a cierto caos rítmico, siempre ha tenido también un acento introspectivo y onírico, el cual se vuelve más marcado en Looking For Drugs in a Wrong Place. Frecuencias oníricas y recreaciones análogas anormales tomadas de un mar sonoro enmarcadas en ritmos mutantes. Las referencias son varias: desde Solvent hasta ritmos latinos resignificados. A partir de looking for Drugs…Nastyda un giro inesperado a la música instrumental de Subnor y comienza a componer canciones de naturaleza intrigante en las que su voz complementa algunos de sus tracks para volverlas exploraciones muy personales en torno al pop electrónico.

Subnor is Juan Manuel Arias, aka Nasty, project, musician and designer born in Mexico City. The trajectory of Nasty inside the local sceneof electronic music can be raked until his activities as a Breakbeats DJ next to Mexican collectives like Parador Análogo and Jungle Empire, whereas in the field of design and multimedia he was a memeber of Xnografikz. This it is the second EP in Filter of Subnor, who previously published the Split Japo/Masú next to Destreza and a remix in The Novel I Never Wrote. Subnor, in spite of its IDM nature idm prone to certain rythmical chaos, always has had also a introspective and a dreamy accent, which becomes more noticeable in Looking For Drugs in a Wrong Place. Dreamy frequencies and abnormal analogue recreations taken from a sonorous sea framed inside mutant rythms. Subnor’s influences rate from from Solvent to resignified Latin rhythmical structures. From looking for Drugs… Nasty gives an unexpected turn to the instrumental music of Subnor and begins to compose songs of intriguing nature in which his voice complements some of his tracks turning them into personal electronic pop explorations.

Yen Pox is the debut EP from Bifidus (Juan Carlos Flores). It is formed by tinny dfigital corridors, folds and microscopic sonic explosions. Artificial ambiences that seem to be guided and ordered by the chaos of dreams. Yen Pox creates random tapestries that surprise the listener. Nearly-perfect soundtracks taken from analgesic dreams.

Bifidus (Juan Carlos Flores) hace referencia a las atmósferas cerebrales atrapadas en ambientes oníricos. La expresión más bizarra del sueño quedaría plastificada en esa esfera candente llamada yen pox, rescoldo, materia residual del opio recién fumado que da nombre a su ep/debut. Diminutas correrías digitales, despliegues y microestallidos sónicos,sorprenden en deliciosos recovecos de cada cresta, hondonada y voluta surgen de los ambientes artificiales en cada propuesta, que en su conjunto parece guiado por un hilo conductor donde el principio y fin se pierden en la madeja de ensoñaciones.

Apegado a los códigos genéticos del ambient, donde los elementos independientes copulan con los incidentes al crear tejidos de vigorosa textura visual, confecciona tapices aleatorios que sorprenden al escucha con lo que podrían ser perfectas bandas sonoras de sueños analgésicos o loops trepidantes sin aparente salida, salvo un inquieto despertar. Un viaje interno sembrado de clicks que navega por diversos paisajes emocionales.

Bifidus music refers to brain atmospheres caught inside dreamy ambiences. The most bizarre expression of dreams plastifies in that hot sphere called yen pox, residues of the just-smoked opium that give its name to this debut ep from Bifidus (Juan Carlos Flores). Tiny digital corridors, folds and sonic microexplosions get us caught in the delightful folds of every wave, artificial ambiences that seem guided and ordered by the chaos of dreams.

This material is inside the realms of the genetic code of ambient, where independent elements make love with incidents creating strong visual tapestries full of texture and randomness that surprise the listener with perfect-near dreamy soundtracks taken form small analgesic dreams or loops without exit. An inner trip full of clicks that takes us to diverse emotional landscapes.

En torno a la pieza “The novel I never wrote” (original de Destreza, aparecida en el acoplado “Mínimas Texturas 7” dediscos Konfort) 13 proyectos de electrónica mexicana convergen para imprimir su personal sello remezclando el original. Por segunda ocasión Filtro presenta una muestra panorámica de la escena electrónica nacional independiente. Se incluyen proyectos de trayectoria reconocida, así como talentos emergentes. Los remixes van del ambient de texturas sutiles hasta deconstrucciónes de corte idm con asaltos rítmicos y dosis de ruido digital.

Erick Gamboa, productor de la pieza original, es uno de los talentos más destacados de la música electrónica nacional, sus proyectos Destreza y E.lebleu han contribuido a colocar la atención del mundo en la música electrónica producida en México.
