Well, straight out of the vaults of the wondrousness that is Black Sista, the first in a number of classic releases for Mortimer Tee tracks. Remember to catch the BS! kidz at http://www.publishnet.nl/~orlingo, And remember, composing jazzy funky hiphop stuff like Mortimer does _is_ big. and clever. 😉 Watch out for new material from him on both Black Sista and Mono211, pretty darn soon. Can you wait?

[btw, some people might doubletake, since these Mortimer tracks are allegedly ‘already released’. well, put it this way, the spreading was such that even us here at Mono211 hadn’t heard them until a few days ago, so we figured the chance to give them a wider audience is pretty unmissable. case closed?]

Aha, the first release from Bay Tremore now he’s a member of mono211, and there’s some excellent shenanigans from his corner of the globe, in the form of “Twisted”. Just say yes to weird sampled vocals and trippy drums, won’t you? 🙂 Btw, Bt’s evil cousin may or may not have been responsible for a couple of the recently rockin’ no’mo releases.. as always, they’re limited edition, unlimited sedition, so if you don’t have them now, start looking 😉

Artist: Delay7+Funktio
Title:
We Today
Label:
Mono211
Catalog #:
REL#132
Release Date:
1998/04/27

Yep, there’s been quite a few guest-tracks recently. Why? It’s cos we like to break things up a bit and throw a few surprises and headshocks in there, we guess 🙂 Mono gets maybe 4 or 5 guest-tunes sent to us a week, so naturally, only the absolutely kick-ass stuff gets through. And here’s an example. From members of the rather excellent 3Krew outta deepest darkest Finland, here’s a really, _really_ fucked-up triphop track. Wow, canya hear the screaming? Industrial-strength scariness.

Artist: Subi
Title:
Confliktdrincking
Label:
Mono211
Catalog #:
REL#131
Release Date:
1998/04/23

More wonderfulness that appears to have been unearthed from about 1991 but is in fact brand-new from the mad mind of a Subi on the rampage. 🙂 Also featuring the vocal talents of some particularly crazed period English comedy types, this is vintage daftness. Keep it up up up, mon. This neat little package also comes with a nice cover designed+pixeled by Subi himself – is there no end to peoples’ talents round here? Jeez 😉

Ghostface
Label:
Mono211
Catalog #:
MOD#130
Release Date:
1998/04/17

A personal favourite artist of several Mono members, a welcome guest release from Astradyne, often seen gooning around on the Noise label. Seems sensible enough, but is deceptively dangerous. Dive beneath the surface and feel the funk flow like shoals of fish around your soul.

Spring is in the air, and it’s time to get all funky n jazzy with the second instalment of the Mortimer Twang remixes. This one’s for you, Mr.Tee 🙂

Let’s go back, let’s go back to school, let’s go back to school, to the oldskool 😉 Ramone shows his mastery of the hiphop jam again, and there’s dancing on the streets – some serious electric boogaloo action goes down, hah heh hah. Can anyone spell ‘worryingly funky’? Mono iz three feet high.. and rising.

Release Date:
1998/03/16

Does the man know no end to his beginning? More wonderfulness from Vim!, to whom this track makes perfect sense, but to the rest of us.. wow. It seems random but it’s all completely mapped out on graph paper before he starts. Next to his new inventions, the spaceship and the peanut that reverses time. Could you dance to this? Or just spasm? Heh, who cares? Just listen 😉

Artist: Bay Tremore
Title:
Basement
Label:
Mono211
Catalog #:
MOD#126
Release Date:
1998/02/17

A new guest release, this time from the rather attractively named Bay Tremore, and it’s a really funky headnodder, blunted stylee. This track was introduced to us by Zyad, who’s done quite a funky remix of it – this may come out on fsb sometime soon if we’re all lucky 🙂 Thanks to Mr.Tremore for letting us put out his most excellent tune, and remember, kidz, innovate, don’t imitate (that’s enough with the surreal song descriptions, you know who you are!)

Dharma – Flash, Gone Now {REL#125}

Artist: Dharma
Title:
Flash, Gone Now
Label:
Mono211
Catalog #:
REL#125
Release Date: 1998/02/10

Dharma never bums us out, and here’s another track that hits all the right notes, percussively and chill-wise. Very wise,in fact, as it hips and hops and hippety-hops around in a kinda jazzy drummy funky way. Dub is love, this is almost better than the karma police coming round your house and taking you away. Heh, my karma ran over your dogma, man. 🙂
