Desde Argentina nos llega este ep con una duración de casi 50 minutos en el cual participan Gurtz, Funzion (aka Ampec), Dilo, Tammy y Barem, artistas del crew/label Zensible Rec, fundado en Buenos Aires en el 2003. Pingüinos es una clara demostración del alcance de Zensible Beats, subdivisión del sello enfocada a la pista de baile, en la cual se da una fusión de géneros sintéticos que incluye idm, clicks and cuts, nu-dub y minimal techno enmarcada en estructuras de 4/4 ideales para el dancefloor.

From Argentina comes this almost 50 minute ep, wich includes tracks by Gurtz, Funzion (aka Ampec), DIlo, Tammy and Barem, all of them artists from the crew/label Zensible Rec. Pingüinos is a clear demonstration of Zensible Beats aesthetics, a sublabel coming out of Zensible Rec focused on the dancefloor. They fuse synthetic genres like idm, clicks and cuts, nu-dub and minimal techno inside 4/4 structures.

Pingüinos representa una nueva etapa para Filtro al ser el nuestro primer lanzamiento de talento internacional el cual incluye colaboraciónes de Argentina en lo musical y del diseñador venezolano Nuuro (también productor de música electrónica con un ep para ser publicado por Poni Republic en puerta) en el arte de la portada.

From Argentina to us, arrives this 50 minutes EP with the participation of 5 artists from the crew/label Zensible Rec. Founded in Buenos Aires in 2003. Pingüinos is a clear demonstrarion of the Zensible Beats, a subdivision from the label focused on the dancefloor, it includes different synthetic genres like idm, clicks and cuts, nu-dub and minimal techno, structured in 4/4, just suitable for the dancefloor.

Gurtz, Funzion (aka Ampec), Dilo, Tammy and Barem show the evolution of the minimal sound, coming from labels like Force Inc. But now from this part of the world. A sofsticated sound that gives away the capacity to experience new sensations with the sensation of movement. Pingüinos represents a new stage in filtro being our first release of international artists.

…between Hussain and Havel this Iraqi-Czech thinker, agitator,adventurer and singing poet was born in Baghdad, in the Haifa district. Just before the start of the war between Iraq and Iran, he and his mother left the Orient and headed for his mother´s native country – the Czech Republic.

Thus, He spent most of his childhood firstly in Baghdad and then in Praque – surrounded by moustached members of Hussain´s party called Baas, elegant policemen from the Czechoslovak Police Force and rebels from the anti-communist resistance movement. It is quite possible that, thanks to this period, Bruno Ferrari became such a unique and inimitable personality.

This release give us the perspiring “Jean Gabin”, cosy and laidback “TV and Chipsy” + the sexy video “Pornozenich”…and Liquid Stranger and Dorothy´s Magic Bag contributes with two fingerlickin´ remixes.

This time, a fine debut from mysterious Norwegian idm-er Coax, also known as Reflex, and with his only previous release being the ultra-obscure, self-released ‘Showcase’ CD. He helps us out on Monotonik with a first release in the form of the electro-tinged, extremely catchy, almost retro video game-like electronics of the ‘Blackened EP’ – and we thank him.

First up is the pounding, electro-happy beat of ‘1984’, all pure sinewaves and sustain, as Coax taps into the pure melodies and simple joys that have been sustaining Monotonik for, oh, five years or more now. But things get a little more twisty with ‘Byzantum’, which is practically Orbital-esque in its harpsichord and cyclical melody structures. Moving on, ‘Shadowrun’ has more of the carefully chugging electro moves in plentiful supply, before ‘Lich’s Lullaby’ goes oddly ’80s RPG soundtrack meets Lord Of The Rings meets idmizness. Finally, ‘Something Wicked’ is, indeed, rather wicked, launching a dervish of understated, murky melodies that sound like an underwater level for an obscure Nintendo platformer. Level up!

begin your adventure with “orange horizon“. picture an enchanting sunrise over a calm and secluded lake, on a warm august morning. lush, balmy pads play a familiar role throughout the entire release, creating a strong foundation for new layers of sound to tickle the senses.

the uplifting naturistic moods in “avalon” give the listener an effortless enjoyable experience that carries well into the next few tracks. compelling elements of acoustic + ibanez guitar, heard in “wonder” and “distance“, act as a refreshing alternative to the atmospheric leads presented in most of the compositions.

“early reflections“, the ep’s title track, delivers and sets itself apart from the rest. treat yourself to pulsating kicks and deep synthetic progressions as (val)liam concludes his journey in hypnotic fasion. celebrate dewtone’s 6th release, a modest example of yet another young canadian artist breaking out of his musical shell.
