Another Saturday, another supadupa Mono release hits ya, and this time it’s England vs. Scotland in the football and Dreamfish vs. Paula on your Amiga. Guess who wins? 🙂 I can’t say much else but confirm that Dreamfish is one of the very best 4-channel dance musicians in the world today, woowoo. And there’s still lots and lots more Dreamfish tunes to be released, so keep on keeping on the Mono frequency. Ballistic fatalistic animalistic. 😉 We’ve been keeping off the drum n bass recently, but rest assured the hardstepping will be back with a vengeance soon, with Substance+Dreamfish kicking it bigtime.

Dreamfish strikes again with one of my favourite Mono releases so far, featuring real record-deck scratching from the sleep-based piscine himself. It’s so.. spliffmungous. We love you Mary Jane. 😛 By the way, I have no idea what record Dreamfish is scratching, but it sounds damn nice. I’ll ask him sometime, shall I?

Welcome to “R:emissions” , the first remix EP released by da funky dreads at Mono. This selection of beatz includes a very special guest, in the form of our hombre Supernao. Expect to hear more stuff from him released via Mono, and soon.

A few notes on the songs: “Akai Patch Kids” was originally a short drum+bass workout by Supernao, and was re-re-mixed by h0l. The original remix title was “Garbage Patch Kids”. 🙂 Total remixing time was about 2 hours (1 hour from Supernao and 1 hour from h0l.)

The Dreamfish remix of “Tribute” is one of my favourite Mono releases ever, and dare I say it improves on an already classic song? I think I do. Analogue squelch meets fluid techno meets swirling breakbeat, yum. Watch out for some further solo Dreamfish releases in the near future, ah-haaah jimlad.

Finally, the bonus track remix by Supernao is a cute little piece of electronica. Beep beep beep beeeep bep bep bp b etc… nice stuff.

This tune was originally composed by Dreamfish back in 1994 as a full-ahead trance tune (and is actually one of t01he tracks featured on the TRSI Recordz “Cyberlogik” CD.. go buy the CD if you want to know what the original sounds like!) In March 1996, remixing it was put forward as a music-competition on the UK “Digital Candy” BBS, and h0l stepped forward. Soon after that, Mono was born. h0l still doesn’t know if he won the remixing competition or not. 😉 The vocal sample added by h0l is from the classic NWA album “Efil4zaggin”, by the way.
